What We Do
Foundations is a learning center for both children and families. We educate the heart and mind with the love of Jesus and high-quality academic and spiritual curricula. We are a non-profit and provide our services at a very low cost to the families. Tuition is free, and fees are kept to $90 per month. Our funding comes from a combination of grants, churches and individual donors.
When in-person learning is taking place, 3K and 4K classes go from 8:00am to 3:00pm with optional after-school care until 5:30. Students receive daily breakfast, lunch and snacks; development, health and vision screenings; and over the course of the year a bookshelf with age appropriate books to start their own personal library.
Parents typically spend an average of 40 hours per year in our program. They attend monthly parent involvement sessions and two parenting conferences where they interact with members of the faculty and community about topics such as child development, reading readiness, communication and finances. They also attend all field trips and several fun classroom special events.
Foundations has begun the 2020-2021 school year virtually. The preschool classes each have two one-hour virtual learning sessions per day. Children are required to attend at least one session, but are encouraged to participate as often as possible, and many families do! Parents are required to attend sessions with their child. We have had grandmothers attend the session in the room with the child, while a parent logs on from work just to be a part of what is going on.
Our parent involvement sessions will also begin virtually this year. Parents will have opportunities to participate in live Zoom! Sessions as well as to access pre-recorded content.
